An association to experience and share ballooning

Invitations to experience outings from the inside

Flights organised by the association or its partners offer members opportunities to take part in a shared activity. Discover preparation, ground crew roles and balloon retrieval. Opportunities to fly may arise depending on conditions and available places.

Members share a desire to be part of the adventure and learn alongside those who make it happen. Beginners, enthusiasts and student pilots find opportunities to exchange ideas based on their questions and experience.

Charles Desmet

Charles Desmet is the founder, manager and administrator of Montgolfières de Bruxelles ASBL. He has been a balloon pilot since 1978 and has worked as a ballooning instructor and examiner for more than thirty years. He can explain the association’s life, activities and how to join. He supports members, shares his experience and advises them as they discover ballooning or develop as pilots. His mentoring role within the club involves sharing experience; it is not official training or an assessment for a licence.

Crews and partners

Outings bring members into contact with pilots and experienced people. When an activity is organised with a partner, participants are informed about its organisation and applicable conditions. The club’s role is to support the community and facilitate discovery and discussion around ballooning.

A club based in Brussels

Our address is 3 avenue des Étriers, 1150 Brussels. Activities welcome enthusiasts from Brussels and Brabant in particular. Outings may meet elsewhere - the location is specified for each activity.
