A hot air balloon outing involves a whole crew

Members may receive invitations to flights organised by the association or its partners. Each outing depends on its organisation, conditions and availability. Practical information is provided for the activity concerned.

Preparing for a flight

The outing begins with meeting the crew and a briefing. You discover the equipment and planned tasks. The people supervising the activity explain what you can observe and how to participate at your own level.

Watching preparation and inflation helps you understand the work before take-off. Participation follows the crew’s instructions - you learn alongside them and ask your questions at an appropriate moment.

The ground crew member’s role during an outing

The activity continues through ground support and the flight itself. You discover how people coordinate and why their presence matters. A place in the basket may become available depending on the outing. The club does not guarantee a flight each time you participate.

After landing

Retrieving and packing away the balloon are part of the adventure. They reveal another side of the activity and offer a chance to contribute to the team effort. Conversations after the outing let you revisit what you observed and better understand decisions made.

An activity for enthusiasts from Brussels and Brabant

The club is based in Brussels. Meeting points and flight locations vary with organisation and weather. Before participating, confirm the location, times, transport arrangements and required equipment. Your availability and proximity to activities make it easier to take part.

Your first outing starts with a conversation
